Our past

Over the past 10 years, Jumpstart Refugee Talent has supported refugee entrepreneurs through one-on-one coaching support, training programs, pitch competitions, investor connections, business incubation, and even early-stage capital.

Over a decade of direct engagement has revealed a consistent under addressed barrier; access to capital. As a nonprofit, our entrepreneurship support is not designed to address this at a systemic level. The Refugee Impact Fund is being created in response.

Building Partnerships

Jumpstart’s approach will be to compliment, not duplicate. We will engage and collaborate with partners who specialize in areas that advance refugee entrepreneurship inclusion in areas such as:

  • Research
  • Investment readiness training
  • Business incubation and acceleration
  • Mentoring and networks

We invite academic institutions, business accelerators, settlement agencies, and all others in the entrepreneurial support ecosystem to connect with us and explore collaboration opportunities.

Our future

Jumpstart Refugee Talent is shaping a future where refugee lens investing is a recognized and integrated part of Canada’s investment landscape, developing a Refugee Impact Fund to unlock capital access for refugee entrepreneurs and the organizations that support them.
